The Story of Mockingbird Red
I lost my mother to a drunk driver on July 3, 2011. My mom was a very talented seamstress. She could mend, sew, knit or crochet almost anything. My mom taught me how to sew when i was young, sometimes, against my will.
On April 13, 2016 my mom came to me in a dream. I heard her voice tell me to remember "Mockingbird Red". I had no idea what she meant by it. I asked what it meant and she just said "you need to remember Mockingbird Red". I woke up from my dream and quickly wrote the name down so i would not forget it. No one in my family could make a connection to anything so i put the name aside.
In January 2017 I decided on a new venture. Making yoga bags. I really was just making them for myself and my friends but it grew into a business of its own. I've had a lot of input over the years from people looking for a yoga mat tote or just a bag to carry their stuff in. So I created a line of bags that are reasonably priced yet very durable. I decided that I wanted to put a name to all the fun, unique bags I was making. My mom's words came rushing to me. Mockingbird Red. So my mom's legacy lives on.
All the bags I make are either re-purposed or just plain fun but every one is unique in it's own style. Bags can be made by request from almost any material you have. Contact me at email@example.com.
